I have been a member of TNT for over a year now. I had originally joined to “give it a try” as I have always had a love for boxing for fun and to improve fitness. I was hooked immediately and have embraced everything available to me in a more serious manner. I had gained 20lbs (quite suddenly over a short term) due to stress both social and work related, and suffered from hypertension. While I knew the hypertension was stress related, the doctors spent months referring me for different tests to rule out any physiological causes. When nothing was found, I knew I had the right tools to take action. I told Joel at TNT that I had some goals I had set: to lose weight, relieve stress and eliminate my high blood pressure. I have lost 20lbs since I became accountable to Joel, regained (and surpassed) my pre-weight-gain fitness level, and I no longer have high blood pressure. There are so many reasons I am in love with training here. I love boxing, but it’s not JUST boxing. The intense conditioning workouts have pushed me to be an athlete. I play a team sport, and Joel’s boot camp and boxing workouts have got me in the right condition to play, improving both cardio, strength, and agility. I also come here to de-stress. It’s a fun workout, with an amazing community of hardworking and happy people. You can’t help but smile (metaphorically, since it’s more like a grimace when you’re on the bag!). The balance of boxing for fitness, hardcore conditioning and technical boxing is perfect. Then there are the competitive classes… I’ve got my eye on you!
